Andaryu’s Ultimate PSP List

Welcome to Andaryu’s Ultimate PSP List. Here I will be talking about my favorite PSP games and hopefully I’ll provide you with some good recommendations. I’m getting a new PSP friday (yay! it’s my like 8th one! XD) and I’m going to go on a PSP spree. Here’s some really good PSP games that I’ve played before and highly recommend.

Before we begin, let’s take a look at the new PSP I’m getting:

Beautiful, isn’t it? Alright now onto the list! =D

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Possibly one of the best PSP games of all time, Crisis Core is an action RPG that lives off the legendary success of FFVII. It has a very touching story with tons of gaming content and an intriging battle system. This game is perfect to play right before VII.

Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days
If strategy RPG’s is more of your thing, Disgaea 2 is an enhanced PS2 port with loads of new content that will satisfy your strategy needs. The game play is superb, and the story is just hilarious. One of my favorite PS2 games, the extra content does not disappoint and there’s even loads of DLC to check out.

Dissidia 012 Duodecim: Final Fantasy
Probably my favorite PSP game of all time, Dissidia 012 is an “dramatic progressive action” game, which is a huge fan service to Final Fantasy fans. There’s a lot of content and unlockables, along with a pretty in depth story mode and excellent multiplayer. For any FF fan, this is one game to check out no matter what.

Final Fantasy & Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition
A beautiful pair of remakes, the FF I and II anniversary editions are the best way to play the classic games again. There’s new content with impressive visuals, as well as improved mechanics (such as being able to name your characters in FFI with more than just 4 slots). These games created the RPG genre and they still hold up even today.

Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection
Another wonderful (and more recent) FF remake. FFIVCC has not only the original FFIV remade anniversary style, but also a brand new scenario called “interlude” and The After Years, which is a sequel originally on WiiWare in the states. The game is very high quality and a dream come true for hard core FFIV fans.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
The classic strategy RPG, FFT has some amazing sprites and jobs/characters that will keep you busy for hours on end. In this remake there are new CG anime style/cel-shaded cutscenes that really add to the depth of the story. That’s another thing this game excells in greatly, the story. It’s epic, I’m gonna replay it again for the awesome story alone. This version also has multiplayer, and it’s only downside is long loading times, even with data install.

Gods Eater Burst
While it may appear to be a Monster Hunter clone, God Eater can stand on it’s own as it’s own unique experience. The multiplayer is some of the funnest I’ve ever had on a PSP, and the gameplay is very original and has great depth. The story also has it’s charm, which is usually lacking in a MH title. If your looking to slay some gods with friends, you won’t be disappointed with this.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix
Birth by Sleep takes the KH series is a great direction. With a brand new stylish battle system, BBS takes tons of good elements from the series and molds it into it’s own amazing experience. The game play is very fun, with 3 characters to play as and tons of fighting styles, the combat never gets boring which is a rare thing in most games today. The story is pretty short and light hearted, but there’s a lot to do and it even has multiplayer. The multiplayer experiences can totally make up for anything this game lacks, fighting co-op with a friend taking down armies of heartless is a blast. There’s even racing and board games!

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable
One of the most original/unqiue RPG’s that you will ever play, P3P is a remake of the PS2 hit RPG. This version has new content and makes it easier for new players to enjoy and understand everything. The game has a very interesting story with an amazing, classic turn based battle system with incredible depth. Also included in this version is the special episode “The Answer” that was only in the FES PS2 version which is hard to come by.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. There are many more amazing PSP titles out there, you just gotta discover them. Also included in this list is games I have yet to play (below). Can’t wait to try out all these well received titles.

Lord of Arcana
Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle (played the PS2/Wii version)
Riviera: The Promised Land (played the GBA version)
Valkyria Chronicles II
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (played the PSOne version)
White Knight Origins
Yggdra Union: We’ll Never Fight Alone (played the GBA version)

Although the PSP is nearing the end of it’s life span, there’s still plenty of great titles still on the way that will increase the system life even longer.

Black★Rock Shooter
Final Fantasy Type-0
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 – Innocent Sin
Grand Knights History

I just love my PSP games. Can’t wait for more. When my new system arrives, I plan to stream my playtroughs so keep an eye on the site for updates about that.
